Care Coordinator to abseil down Liverpool Cathedral for charity
By Hannah West
A self-confessed adrenaline junkie, CRG Homecare Care Coordinator, Lindiann is always one for taking on new challenges.
A member of the Cold-Water Swimming Community in Merseyside, Lindiann loves adventure and uses this to raise money for local charities.
Lindiann will face her biggest challenge yet as she abseils down Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral to raise money for Zoë’s Place Trust, a charity that provides services to support families across the North West of babies with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses.
At 331 feet the Cathedral is one of the world’s tallest non-spired church buildings and the third-tallest structure in Liverpool, but this doesn’t faze Lindiann.
She said: “I have always been one for adventure, so I thought why not challenge myself to take on new things and raise money for local charities at the same time.
“I’m really looking forward to the abseil in July and hoping to reach my target of raising £500 for Zoe’s Place Trust. The charity makes such a difference in the local community and I have seen first-hand the support they provide.”
Lindiann, who has worked at CRG Homecare’s Liverpool branch for four years, is also passionate about raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing.
In January this year, she joined a Cold-Water Swimming Community in Merseyside and has since raised money for mental health charities by taking part in cold water Zumba and litter picking with the group.
“I wanted to try something new and so I joined the cold-water community. The temperature of the water is usually around -1°C but I have been in the water when it was icy – that was cold!” she explained.
“I find the water helps me to feel refreshed and revitalised. A lot of people have struggled with their mental health during the past year and being in the water has definitely helped me emotionally, physically and mentally.”
Good luck to Lindiann who takes on the abseiling challenge on 31st July! If you would like to show your support and donate, click here: https://bit.ly/3tqGCyJ
