CRG Homecare’s Stoke branch rated ‘good’ in CQC inspection

CRG Homecare Stoke-On-Trent has been awarded five ‘good’ ratings in all key lines of enquiry, after undergoing an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The CQC – the independent regulator of all health and social care in England – published the report on the 31 May, after the inspection was carried out between 27 March and 8 April 2019 – the second time it has received a ‘good’ rating in three years.

Sue Noon, Registered Branch Manager for the Stoke branch, said: “We are delighted that the work of our team has been recognised by the CQC, as our  care workers go the extra mile  on a daily basis to provide exceptional home support for individuals in our local community, allowing them to maintain as much of their independence as possible  in their own home .

“Our service users are at the heart of everything that we do, and although we are happy with our rating, we’re continuously striving to improve the service that we provide.”

The report found that there was good communication between service users, care workers and other health professionals, leading to an increased feeling of safety and security for service users. Customers reported to CQC that “they are very respectful of my home”, whilst another person said, “I feel safe with them. They have helped me to remain independent.” CRG Homecare’s care workers also receive ongoing best practice training to ensure that they are providing exemplary care.

Dianne Underwood, Director of Quality, Training and Governance at CRG Homecare, added: “I am delighted that the Stoke Branch has received the recognition for the hard work and dedication they continuously deliver. The branch recently arranged for two brothers to go on holiday together who had not been away since their mother sadly passed away. This is another example of the team going above and beyond to make sure that their customers are happy.

“We encourage every member of our team to become Dignity Champions and take part in charitable activities. It’s this compassion that makes our team unique, we can provide safe and effective care to individuals. We have recently launched our own internal training academy, Development Matters to continuously improve the skills of our teams.

“We are also looking forward to meeting more of our customers during National Care Day in September, where members of CRG Homecare’s Senior Leadership Team and Shared Services shadow a Care Assistant for the day to gain an insight in their role and day-to-day challenges.”
