CRG Homecare secures new Kirkby contract
By James Fairhurst
CRG Homecare has been awarded a contract to provide care at a new extra care scheme in Kirkby, Merseyside.
The company, which provides a range of care and support staff and services, will be offering care in a 110-unit complex, The Maples, with its first residents moving to the development in February. CRG Homecare will be providing care to a number of residents, increasing its levels of care according to the changing needs of each individual.
The Maples is an extra care scheme based in Kirkby, which offers residents all the benefits of independent living but with the full support of a 24-hour on-site care team. The development has a range of communal facilities including a bistro, salon and courtyard as well as innovative technology installed enabling residents to video call one another as well as access support on-site when needed.
Chief Executive Officer at Torus, Steve Coffey, said: “One of our driving priorities as a group is to invest into our heartlands – financially and emotionally.
“We want all our tenants to feel safe, comfortable and happy in our homes which is why we invest in more than just bricks and mortar. We support many community projects and initiatives with the people who live in our homes to create sustainable support in the local area that residents can access whenever they need it.
“We want to contribute positively to an area and can already see that The Maples will be a vital asset for the residents who live there and in the wider community itself.”
The new contract will also see the business grow as it looks to create 25 new jobs for the local area, including a care team leader and care workers. The new care workers will be assisting individuals in their own homes by helping them with their daily routine, including administering medication and helping service users with shopping and other leisure activities.
Karen Garner, Registered Scheme Manager, said: “We’re delighted to have won the contract to provide care and support for residents at The Maples. The purpose of extra care is to provide care and support within an independent living environment and enable residents to remain in their own home for life – with an option to receive increasing level of care and support where required.”
Clare Timmins, West Regional Director at CRG Homecare, said: “We pride ourselves on the high standards of service that we deliver, so we are delighted to be expanding our service offering in Merseyside. Our focus is on delivering high-quality, person-centred care, which we will be providing to residents in The Maples.
“Additionally, we are hoping to recruit a number of new care staff to join our team, allowing us to grow and meet local demand for exceptional care and support.”
