Homecare Hero- Zaira
By James Fairhurst
Zaira joined CRG Homecare Salford as a Care Assistant in January. It has been a challenging time to come into the care industry but Zaira has took this in her stride.
She has gone out of her way to help her clients, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, and because of her dedication she was awarded Salford’s Care Assistant of the Month.
One of Zaira’s service users Millie, started to receive care from CRG Homecare just two weeks ago, but has already built a trusting relationship with Zaira. She said: “Zaira is more like a friend. She is very thoughtful and helps me around the house. I think all the care workers are very brave continuing to help provide support to people like me.”
Branch Manager, Jayne Voss commented: “Zaira has never done care before and has started her career in care at one of the most challenging times. She has taken to the role amazingly; nothing is too much trouble and she is always willing to help.
“Her clients are commenting on how lovely she is and has an amazing attitude. She is calling the office to say when she can work extra to help out. She has been fantastic and hasn’t let this crisis phase her. Everyone at the Salford Branch want her to know how much we appreciate her.”
Zaira is going above and beyond by picking up food items, like milk and bread, and medication for her clients who are self-isolating.
Zaria added: “I love my job. Jayne, the Branch Manager, and the Care Coordinators have been very supportive, and the care plans are really detailed so I know what I need to do.
“Some of my clients have been anxious and worried about the virus but I listen to their worries and reassure them. We also have an app which is updated with all the government guidance around Covid-19, so I feel very supported.”
Thank you Zaira for your acts of kindness- you’re one of our homecare heroes!
