Volunteering at CRG Homecare

At CRG Homecare, we have exciting opportunities for volunteers to join our Recruitment and Quality Assurance Teams.

More and more people are turning to volunteering; whether it is to give back to the community or to help their wellbeing, there are so many benefits to volunteering.

Improves mental health

Not only do volunteers help the community, but research shows that it helps your mental health and wellbeing. It is human nature to feel good after helping someone. Volunteers get a great sense of purpose, which can reduce stress and improve your mental health and happiness.

In 2017/18, 20.1 million (38%) people in the UK volunteered formally at least once a year and 11.8 million (22%) of people did so at least once a month.

‘Wanting to do good’ is the most common motivation to volunteer. In 2017/18, 46% of people said that they volunteer to improve things and help others (stats from The National Council for Voluntary Organisations).


It can be hard to find the time to volunteer but some volunteering roles can be flexible, so you can fit this around your lifestyle. Even if you have a full-time or part time job, or you have a busy family life, volunteering doesn’t need to be a long-term commitment.

New skills

Volunteering can also help you gain valuable new skills and boost your confidence. There are many different skills that you learn through volunteering, such communication, teamwork, customer service and problem solving.

Meet new people

Volunteering also connects you to others. Even if you volunteer remotely from your home, you are talking to new people either via video or telephone calls, so it is a great way to meet people who share the same values as you do.

Volunteering at CRG Homecare

At CRG Homecare we have a number of volunteering opportunities. Our Quality Assurance Team is recruiting Quest for the Best volunteers, to conduct telephone questionnaires with the individuals we provide care to.

The Quest for the Best volunteers complete a questionnaire with our service users on how they feel about the service provided.

Some of CRG Homecare’s service users are housebound and so the calls not only help CRG Homecare to measure how safe and effective its service is, but it is also a friendly call to our service users who may feel lonely.

CRG Homecare’s Recruitment Team is also looking for volunteers to conduct telephone interviews with potential candidates. As a recruitment volunteer, you will interview people who have applied for a position at CRG Homecare via a phone call.
